With digital camcorder’s you now have the ability to create and edit your own personal videos for family and friends to enjoy watching with you whenever. There are an enormous amount of advantages to having a camcorder and that is just one. Most families do have camcorder’s now, fortunately the prices have gone down some since they first came out. Having a camcorder makes life so much more enjoyable because every moment that makes you smile is able to be taken and stored onto the memory in your camcorder and then later transferred onto your home computer, if you choose to do so. Your camcorder’s lens is very important and keeping it protected from scratches and smudges is also important so that when you are recording nothing stands in the way or messes up the appearance of your images. The basic zoom lens on most camcorder’s should be all that anyone needs, the bigger the lens the more chances you are taking of having a poor quality video. They tend to make them appear a little less clear. You should also know that there is more than one type of image stabilization on your camcorder and they are very, very important. One is called optical and the other is called electronic. The optical option has the ability to use your camcorder’s lens mechanism to take the place of any outside external movements. The electronic stabilization counteracts any images that tend to float around using some internal input to capture those images for your video.

Another advantage of recording videos with your camcorder is the audio ability. Sound is very important when you are recording family videos of any kind. Without the sound, you really would not get the most from the video you have created. Your camcorder has a built in microphone for sound to enter, some of the camcorder’s will offer different types of microphones for your camcorder, including a zoom microphone, which would enhance the sounds entering it quite a bit. One more advantage that I can think of would be the fact that most camcorder’s allow you the ability to record a video inside or out, daytime or night. Check the owners manual and see what all of your features are available to you on your camcorder. A camcorder has many advantages and the list does go on from here. I just wanted to give you a few of them so that it will give you something to think about if you are considering possibly purchasing one for the holidays. It would be a really great investment and after you figure out how to properly use it, you will feel like a pro.
